Visit Thailand soon? Visit my last blog post here to see which island you should visit! Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand! This place is fun, wild, and full of street food. Thailand is a great place to ball on a budget, college kids, or simply get the best bang for you buck. It is CHEAP here. It is crazy how far your dollar can go here. However, if you are in the touristy area it will be normal prices that you see in the US. But if you go outside of those areas there will be a lot of fun, cheap, and yummy street food. You can ge massages for $5, a full plate of pad thai for $2 and a beer for a couple of cents!

Bangkok is HUGE. I did not realize how big of a city it was until we were flying to into Bangkok as I was watching the skyline as we were landing. Please be prepared to walk, take a lot of taxis, and travel around in tuk tuk’s. The picture above shows when we were getting ready to go to the floating market. If you are unfamiliar with the floating market, it is like a farmers market that you go through on a boat and the vendors are on boats negotiating prices with you. It is such a great experince I recommend doing.
There is a lot of shopping to be done in Bangkok. A lot of people don’t speak a lot of English but people understand your hand gestures, facial expressions, and the language of money talking! It is pretty easy to negotiate with the street vendors in Bangkok. You will find a lot of things here from fine art, cool artifacts, clothes, and knick knacks.
When it comes to food in Thailand be prepared to eat rice and noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Or you can always go and find an american place to go eat some eggs, french toast, and pancakes! The food is easy to access here and it is the #1 place in the world to eat on the street. They have the most street vendors in the world. I mean every corner they have people in a cart selling food. That food can include pad thai, pad see ew, curry, rice, and noodle dishes. If you are adventorous you can try some fried scorpion
